First and Fourth Penthouse

My projects begin with equal consideration of architecture and client’s taste, personality and preference for their ideal surrounding. The creative process thoughtfully elevates and curates the palette, texture and pieces in a collaborative manner. As important are subtle nods to various art and design influences to individualize the space and result in a bespoke atmosphere of understated luxury.

The Powder Room-

is always the gem of the home, and in this new First and Fourth penthouse the goal was to create a sapphire glowing from the inside out. With floor to ceiling, 360 degree application of glass tile from Sun Valley Rug and Tile and sconces from Ketchum Lighting, the scene is set for the stand alone vanity created from a single block of marble - the jewel in the jewel box. The oversized mirror lends an infinity effect of the tile surround to create a space with playful horizon lines and points of view. In an effort to balance a both masculine and feminine look, angular lines embedded in the tile and heft of the marble are juxtaposed with the vanity’s fluted apron front and glass raindrop light fixtures. Hints of industrialism mixed with a nod to French deco; sharp cuts in a smooth setting can make a Powder Room gem shine.
